Press Advisory re: Office of the Governor vs. Select Committee of Inquiry

The Connecticut Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in the case of Office of the Governor vs. Select Committee of Inquiry on Friday, June 18, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. The arguments will occur in the Supreme Court courtroom that is located at 231 Capitol Ave. in Hartford.

The building opens at 9 a.m., and seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please be advised that the Supreme Court courtroom has limited seating and that it may be impossible to accommodate all of the individuals who would like to attend the proceeding. CT-N (The Connecticut Network) will provide live coverage of the hearing. For more information about CT-N, please visit its website at www.ctn.state.ct.us.

The Supreme Court has granted, in accordance with Section 70-10 of the Connecticut Practice Book, the request of CT-N to videotape for live broadcast the oral arguments in this case. Members of the broadcasting, televising or recording media interested in obtaining a clean pool feed should contact Bill Mendoza at CT-N at (860) 240-8317 to make the necessary arrangements.

Similarly, the Supreme Court has granted The Hartford Courantís request to photograph oral arguments in this case. The Courant will serve as the pool photographer and members of the media who are interested in obtaining copies of the photographs should contact John Scanlan, Photo Editor, at The Hartford Courant at 860-241-6596.

Cell phones that have cameras will not be permitted in the building and the Judicial Marshals will not store the phones during the proceeding. Laptop computers are not permitted in the courtroom. Cell phones and pagers must be turned off while in the building.
