The Judicial Branch is receiving applications through Friday, September 14, 2012, for appointments of a limited number of magistrates.
 
Magistrates are appointed by the Chief Court Administrator pursuant to C.G.S. § 51-193l.  They hear and decide small claims cases and may also hear certain infractions, motor vehicle, and other violation cases.  Appointments are effective for a three-year term.  Compensation is $150 per day and magistrates are limited to serving no more than 90 days per year.
