Docket Number: CV-00-0000000-S
Case Caption:  First Named Plaintiff vs. First Named Defendant

Bridgeport Pilot Program (BPP)
Standing Order No. 1A - Administrative Appeals

The above matter has been selected for participation in the Bridgeport Pilot Program (BPP). The Judicial Branch has prescribed that all cases in the program be disposed of within 15 or 24 months of the return date. Administrative appeals are designated for completion within 15 months of the return date. The following scheduling order is effective:

1. IT IS ORDERED THAT: the defendant file an appearance, answer and a certificate of closed pleadings within 45 days of the return date; the defendant file the return of record within 30 days thereafter; the plaintiff's brief be filed within 60 days thereafter; and the defendant's brief be filed within 60 days thereafter.

2. No brief shall exceed 35 pages without permission of the "discovery" judge assigned to the case.

3. The designation assigned to the case, (respective prefix), must appear as a prefix to the docket number on all filings.

4. All motions relating to any modification of this scheduling order or requests for extensions of time shall be entitled "Motion for Deviation from BPP Scheduling Order". Objections to said motion shall be entitled "Objection to Motion for Deviation from BPP Scheduling Order".

5. All Motions for Deviation from BPP Scheduling Order shall be filed with Caseflow no later than 15 days before the due date of the subject pleading and any objections thereto shall be filed within 14 days thereafter. Such filings must comply in content with P. B. Sec. 14-7(a).

6. The following motions must be filed with Caseflow for the assigned "discovery" judge: Motions for Deviation from BPP Scheduling Order; Motions to Compel and/or Sanctions; Motions to Consolidate; Motions for Nonsuit or Default; and Motions to Open.

7. Parties should make every effort to resolve issues prior to filing the above motions. These motions will not appear on a short calendar and will proceed on the papers to a judge for decision. All objections to these motions must be filed with Caseflow within 14 days of the original motion. If not filed in Caseflow within that period, the objection will not go to the "discovery" judge and will not be considered - then or later. All other motions shall be claimed to the short calendar and filed in the Clerk's Office on the first floor.

8. The failure to comply with any of the above deadlines may result in dismissal/default judgments sua sponte. Should such judgments be opened, the above stated deadlines shall continue to apply; thus, no Motion to Open or Set Aside shall operate to delay this scheduling order, the pretrial, or the hearing.

9. Questions may be directed to Atty. Helen Ryan, BPP Officer, Civil Caseflow Office, Telephone (203) 579-6525; Fax (203) 330-4876.
